Project based Aircraft Staging Systems

TBD design and produce a selection of robust and low maintenance Aircraft Staging and Docking custom built for both Military and Civilian use.

Each of our designs can be altered and customised to suit your aircraft and corporate identity. Providing engineers with a suitable working platform or access stairs whilst engaged in Aircraft Maintenance works is essential for safe, efficient operations.

Overview

At TBD Owen Holland, we design and manufacture a wide range of staging systems, customised to suit individual specifications. Each of our staging access systems is specifically designed to facilitate the safe and efficient maintenance of the specified aircraft or multiple aircraft types.

The staging is designed to be robust, yet light weight and highly manoeuvrable. It is based on our standard proven configurations to provide safe access to the required areas in full compliance with the requirements of international health and safety standards and Working At Height Regulations.

Standard features, although subject to specific requirements include; handed and profiled custom built platforms with mobile welded steel frames, heavy duty Skydrol resistant braked and swivel castors and wind down jacks to ensure security and stability whilst in use and whilst in storage. Units also include anti-slip decking and integral access stairs which are double punched for anti-slip and easy draining

The deck levels are set at a height equivalent to the aircraft door gutter which provides optimum access to the work face whilst still ensuring safe clear access between levels. Where appropriate levels incorporate the necessary profile and cantilever overhang to provide a good working fit and ensuring that frame is clear of the fuselage.

Platforms are often fully enclosed on the outboard edges and can feature half height folding handrails to provide increased access clearance when positioning. Handrails include a knee rail and kick plate and each of these components is designed and measured to meet the particular specification.

Staging is also fitted with D-Rubber buffers where interfacing the aircraft for ultimate aircraft protection.

All TBD staging and docking systems are readily configurable for your aircraft access requirements on both fixed and rotary wing aircraft and can be designed to suit both main base and/or deployable configurations.
